Determined to make things we love LOW SODIUM!!!

Last night I attempted to make my own baked beans because I could not find a low salt version anywhere. I don't follow recipes I just follow a DIY approach to cooking LOL. So what I did was combine 3 cans of low sodium pinto beans (I rinsed them to remove any remaining salt), one can of no salt rotella tomatos (I rinsed them too because they are a bit too spicy for our taste), a healthy squirt of the lowest sodium content BBQ sauce I could find, 3 tablespoons of ketchup, minced onions, a dash of chili powder and about a teaspoon of the low sodium bacon bits I have mentioned before. I cooked that all on low for about a half hour letting it bubble. I made those to go with our lean beef hamburgers and Ballpark turkey dogs and Billie liked them! YAY who knew I could actually cook a little.
Moral of this story is look at ingredients of things you used to love and make it yourself!!! We all knew that though didn't we? Now lets just do it. ;)
