Sneff Alley

Breeze blows as if a warm welcome to a visit long awaited. How can something in the middle of so much youthful life be so lonely? Sad, moss embedded stones sit among a small plot of land and begs to be noticed. Fluttering about, a cardinal welcomes the presence of long lost appreciation. Other birds hover over the lonely gravesite begging for solace to return. In the distance over the sounds of cars and chattering human life a brief song of a chime ever so softly fills the air. Houses and their stories hide behind the weather worn fence. How can something in the middle of so much chaos be so hidden and so desperate? A little cemetery swept aside and all alone. Parking lots, brick buildings, streets and a few aging trees all surround the small plot of earth where lives made their final resting place along Sneff Alley.

An observation I made about a small cemetery in the corner of the Morehead State University campus.
